New Range of Reproduction Tax Discs: 1975 to 1992

Dear Mr JASON CALLEAR

We are very pleased to announce that our range of authentic, high quality reproduction Tax Discs has been extended from 1975 to 1992 inclusive.

These new Tax Discs are printed in the original way - not cheap computer scans. Uniquely, they are perforated just like our existing range, and come complete with counterfoil.

In addition, where appropriate, these new Tax Discs are embossed too, and all have individual issuing stamps –actually stamped by hand, just like your Post Office! (To special order, we will actually produce a specific issuing stamp to customer requirements, at additional cost.)

Now due to a relation of our HMSO copyright licence we are able to have the correct details on the reverse.

The later Tax Discs also feature the correct toned metallic inks – just another example of our commitment to authentic detail on our Tax Discs.

They may be ordered securely on-line via our website. Available now!

Also at  the upcoming Classic Car Show at the NEC – come and see us on stand TV108 in Hall 2! ( 27 -29th October)

Yours Sincerely,

Maureen Ford

GERRY MARSHALL DIES AT SILVERSTONE

A flamboyant driver and great human being has left us

Gerry Marshall, 1941-2005

Gerry Marshall, 1941-2005

Many in the motorsport world are today grieving over the death of Gerry Marshall, of one of the sport's most flamboyant drivers.

He died of a fatal heart attack at the wheel of a Camaro at Silverstone. He's been described as "a wonderful driver who was "a personal inspiration and a great raconteur with an excellent sense of humour and a generous spirit."

Born 16 November 1941, he was a British saloon car racing driver, considered by many to be one of the best drivers of all time, according to a recent magazine poll. His professional driving career spanned four decades, in 2000 chalking up his 600th win in a race at Snetterton, Norfolk in an Aston Martin DB4. His first win was in 1964, driving a Mini.

However, he is probably best remembered for his flamboyant and crowd-pleasing style during the 1970s driving for Dealer Team Vauxhall in the racing Firenzas "Old Nail" and "Baby Bertha", and also the ill-fated V8 Holden-Repco Ventora, "Big Bertha".

He also won the 1971 Escort Mexico championship, driving for the same team as the equally respected rally driver Roger Clarke. Marshall's style has been described as "sideways, on-the-edge cornering style that was to distinguish his driving in any car, large or small, front or rear drive.” This outward appearance belied an extraordinary cool-headed ability and intelligence behind the wheel. His biography, published in 1978, is titled Only Here For The Beer.

Dear Mr. Jason,

I am a frequent visitor of the website of Vauxhall
Classics and therefore take the opportunity to
introduce myself. I am a great enthusiast and a proud
owner of a Vauxhall Victor Super FB 1965 model car,
which was bought by my father new in 1965. For the
past several years my Vauxhall car is off the road and
undergoing complete ground-up restoration work. I have
a great emotional attachment with my car and is the
greatest obsessions of my life. In other words I have
developed a relationship with it.

I frequently visit the website Vauxhall Classics as it
is in no doubt a wonderful website created by
committed and dedicated Vauxhall enthusiasts. All the
websites created by the enthusiasts are indeed doing
an incredible job as these sites are a meeting place
for all the Vauxhall enthusiasts.  I am also very
pleased and interested to know about FD Victor which
is a wonderful car and I have developed a great liking
for that car and would like to have one and restore it
after I am done with my FB Victor. I have already
collected and have in my stock many new items of FD
Victor 2000. Few days ago, I purchased from an auction
a new unused short engine of FD Victor, there were
four but I purchased only one.

Coming to my car, the work on my car is in full swing
these days, I have been able to obtain many new hard
to find parts such as front bumper, grille, bonnet
hood, steering box assy., suspension arms, engine
crankshafts, pistons, connecting rods tappet rockers
etc. I underwent a lot of physical and mental stress
for my car. Work on the body is going on, the sill
panels need replacement. They were replaced and remade
but the shape was not correct therefore they have to
be remade again. The problem that I am facing is that
there is no other FB Victor for taking the idea and
therefore require help. I wonder if you can help me in
this matter?

I also require certain genuine accessories for my FB

PLEASE SEE PARTS WANTED

I think that’s all for now, I look forward to hearing
from you soon. I am also enclosing some pictures of my
car.

Kindest regards
Yours Sincerely,

Husain Zaidi.
